Impact73 is an interdisciplinary impact community for people who wish to maximise their positive impact on the world:
- From areas such as: the future of work; diversity & inclusion; holistic wellbeing; sustainability; ethics; volunteering & charity;
- To collaborate, question, challenge & learn - in a psychologically safe environment;
- Deliberately broad in scope; deliberately diverse in membership;
- Free to join; free to attend events.
Come along to have some interesting discussions... around complex and nuanced topics... with people who are interested in deeply listening (and gently challenging)... with the intention of leaving a little wiser :)
See https://www.impact73.com for more information and links.
Our values:
1. Curiosity: to learn about diverse people and topics; to try new things; to question the status quo.
2. Compassion: everyone is human-first. Include; listen; support.
3. Inclusion: collaborate with others - not in spite of their differences, but because of them.
4. Thoughtfulness: listen carefully; think deeply; challenge gently.
5. Bravery: ask the difficult questions; make the hard choices; be true to yourself and your values.
Members' Charter
Everyone deserves to feel safe and unthreatened whilst engaging with a diverse range of people on a range of issues which are often not straightforward (and where what is 'right' will vary from person to person). This list is not exhaustive but, during my interactions with the Product-Society Fit community, I commit to being the kind of person who:
Respects and values: diversity, debating, questioning, challenging, learning, integrity, psychological safety (and, so long as it aligns with these principles, freedom of speech).
Prioritises: solutions over problems; suggestions and nudges over criticisms; people as being human first.
Is: kind, considerate, respectful, encouraging, thoughtful, supportive, listening, exploring, understanding, curious.
Does not engage in: judging, blaming, arguing, selling/ spamming**, activism***, grandstanding, misinformation, click-bait, sensationalism, harassment, intimidation, gaslighting.
Has an open mind: someone who actively tries to prove myself wrong, seeking opposing views to stress-test my ideas and beliefs.
** Occasional self-promotion [say, once a month] with a focus on informing [rather than selling] should be fine.
*** this group is not for “vigorous campaigning”, the focus should be on understanding, learning, educating and inspiring
